One Day National Conference on Communication Technologies

The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kamal, Ex Vice Chancellor – DAV University, Indore, Distinguished speakers Mr. Vipin Tyagi, Director (I) – CDOT, Prof. Ramesh T. Krishnan – Professor IIM Bangalore, Prof. Baharat Bhasker – Professor IIM Lucknow, Director General – I.T.S Ghaziabad Prof. A.K. Puri and Director – IT, Vineet Kansal by lamp lighting before Goddess Saraswati. This may be noted that every year Department of IT of the institute organizes national conference to provide a competent forum for researchers from academia, industry, research and government organization and in the series this was the 07th National Conference.
Addressing as the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kamal spoke on evolution of communication technologies and narrated the chronological development of these technologies. In his address, Dr Raj Kamal addressed the issues related to efficient deployment of communication technologies and talked about 4G Networks. He also spoke on redefining attributes from technological perspective, applications of algorithmic developments. While addressing the gathering, Prof. Raj Kamal spoke on various probable application areas and emphasized upon careful evaluation of appropriate technology & issues related to it so that maximum benefits could be exploited.
Addressing as the key note speaker, Mr. Vipin Tyagi spoke about the technological advancements taking place in IT industry from telecommunication perspective. Mr. Tyagi in his address, Mr. Tyagi said that with the increased applications of information and communication technologies, there are inherited challenges and concerns are also rising out about securing and providing seamless connectivity among the users. He expressed his serious concerns over research initiatives in the country and emphasized on the need of identifying thrust areas those may lead to a direction which could have potential to work and explore about.
After inaugural session, addressing as distinguished invited speaker, Prof. Ramesh T. Krishnan – Professor at IIM Bangalore spoke on the application aspects of the communication technologies and touched upon various issues related to it. Dr. Krishnan suggested that only solution in this scenario is to promote innovation and this has to come out of India. He also spoke on challenges & issues which are related to business organizations and said that off-shored software industry are most disruptive. In his address, Dr. Krishnan mentioned that existing companies are good at sustaining & innovation but newer are better at disruptive innovations. He presented a IT and software industry balance sheet depicting quality project management, business models, organization’s innovations including ODC, global delivery and proximity development, control and ability to scale-up technical capabilities.
Prof. (Dr.) Bharat Bhasker, speaking as invited distinguished guest, expressed his though on the inflection growth of hypes. In his address, Dr. Bhasker said that evolution of Internet is considered as a Big-bang which occurs rarely and it has created a connecting environment for other applications to be shared and executed across a distributed environment. He further said that last two decades has witnessed un-precedented technology progress which is driving the innovations and creation of significant wealth which is another factor of motivation and encouragement. Prof. Bhasker stressed upon the need of keeping the approach simpler and in such a way that it is closer to the end users. In his address, he underlined the applications and contributions and impact of it in the electronic commerce and said that most of the popular applications started with their own complexity and subsequently after a decade now those stalwarts have started working to make them simpler and more user-friendly.
In his welcome address, while welcoming the guests, Director General – I.T.S Ghaziabad said that communication technologies have changed the way we interact, communicate and transact. These developments and reach of these technologies are revolutionizing the functioning of almost every organization irrespective of their domain in which they are operating into.
In this conference, Call for paper was also issued along with the notification of the conference and overwhelming response was received in the form of research papers. More than 200 research papers were received covering 18 states of the country. After careful scrutiny and review by the experts of review committee, papers were selected for the inclusion in the proceedings of the conference. This proceeding was released by the eminent guests during the inaugural session.
In his concluding address in the inaugural session of the conference, Director – IT, Dr. Vineet Kansal expressed his sincere thanks to the Chief Guest, key note speaker and distinguished speakers of this conference, Dr. Kansal expressed his confidence that various parallel sessions shall witness high class of deliberations and shall open the new directions of research to the participants. Earlier, Convener of this conference, Prof. Umang Singh presented a brief on objectives and structure of the conference.
After inaugural session, parallel sessions on relevant themes were organized in which contributors from different parts of the country, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, UP, Bihar, Wesst Bengal etc, participated and presented their research papers. These sessions were chaired by Prof. Yogesh Mittal, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Ajay Rana respectively.
The conference was concluded with the valedictory session in the afternoon. While addressing as the invited speaker in the valedictory session, Prof. Sanjay Goel spoke about the issues and challenges present in the field of communication. Prof. Goel spoke on the developments taking place in the area of mobile computing and elaborated various complex issues with demonstrative illustrations and examples. He also spoke on perspective research areas in the field of mobile computing and technology.
In his concluding address, Dr. Vineet Kansal, Director – IT of the institute, thanked to the guests for their useful and constructive inputs. Dr. Kansal also thanked to all the delegates and participants for their support, participation and contributions in making this conference a success. He also thanked to the members of organizing committee of the conference which included Prof. Umang Singh, Prof. Alka Agrawal who were well supported by the faculty members and students of Dept of IT.
Conference was attended by over 300 delegates from various parts of the country. Earlier Director General and Director – IT formally welcomed the guest and presented them mementoes on behalf of the institute as token of remembrance. On this occasion large number of students and faculty members were also present in the conference.
